With the aid of computed tomography, further diagnostic examinations of the forelegs down to below the carpal joint, the hind legs down to below the hock joint, and the head down to the second cervical vertebra can be performed while the patient is standing under sedation. An indication for examination under general anesthesia is changes in the hock joints, knee joints, shoulder, and cervical spine.
The combination of a specially designed lifting platform, which allows the CT scanner to be positioned precisely at the required height, a movable CT table, and targeted dosing of the sedatives enables a stress-free examination while the patient is standing, within just a few minutes. The cross-sectional images of bone and soft tissue structures produced by this technology lead to essential diagnostic results and also yield modern 3D reconstructions. The evaluation and interpretation of the images are performed by internationally recognized radiologists (including ECVDI). In dentistry (dental disease, sinusitis, tumors, etc.), ophthalmology (space-occupying lesions of the retrobulbar space), and orthopedics (diseases of the hoof capsule, examinations of the cervical spine, fractures, fissures, joints, etc.), computed tomography has established itself as the gold standard and is indispensable for us as a targeted tool for correct therapy.
